Interesting Images From the 1,474 Megapixel Photo of the Inauguration
Jaina sent me a link to a fairly amazing photo: a huge 1,474 megapixel photograph taken during the Inauguration. Using a Flash interface you can pan and zoom through it like a Google Map, and I definitely recommend checking it out. Take a look at the blog post describing it as well as the full screen viewer.
Here are some interesting images I’ve found after exploring the photo for a while:
- The cold weather really brought out some weird hats. I especially like George H. W. Bush’s “Elmer Fudd” style trapper hat.

- Yo Yo Ma uses an iPhone!

- My mother can be relieved to know that she wasn’t the only one crying during President Obama’s speech:

- Not everyone seems so thrilled to be there:

- Why should something like an Inauguration stop you from checking messages on your phone?

With a photo this large, I’m sure there are other gems in there that haven’t been discovered yet.
